Achievements
Titas Upazila has made tremendous progress and significant achievements in the health sector in the last few years in improving the quality of health services of the people. Infant mortality rate has decreased at the national level as well as at the upazila level. The coverage of the expanded immunization program has increased to 99%, from 8.6% in 2019-2020. Maternal mortality has dropped to 160 per capita, compared to 194 in 2014. Titas Upazila Health Complex has zero maternal mortality in the fiscal year 2020-2021.Malaria, tuberculosis and HIV infections have been brought under control. In Titas Upazila, 20 (twenty) community clinics are playing a significant role in ensuring health services to the rural people. Provision of modern equipments, tools and materials required for the provision of quality healthcare, uninterrupted supply of free medicines has been ensured. Various programs are being carried out in the upazila health starting from the field level to deal with COVID-19. A 13-bed isolation ward has been set up at the Upazila Health Complex to deal with Covid-19 and for this operation 22 oxygen concentrators and various other equipments have been provided for the service of Covid-19 patients.75% of the population of Titas Upazila has been vaccinated with Covid-19 first dose and 70% of the total population has been vaccinated with Covid-19 second dose. A new X-ray machine has been set up with the funding of the Upazila Parishad to bring X-ray services to the doorsteps of the people.
